*Ten places for dim sum in Metro Manila, from the Binondo counters to hotel yum cha lunches in Makati, BGC, Ortigas and by the bay, plus the one daily unlimited dim sum lunch, with prices as printed, checked October 2026.*

For dim sum in Manila, start in Binondo at Wai Ying Fastfood on Benavidez Street for hakaw, siomai and rice rolls at a busy counter, with Dong Bei Dumpling around the corner for handmade northern dumplings. For a proper yum cha lunch in Makati, book Shang Palace at Makati Shangri-La, where the shrimp dumplings are ₱380 for four, or try Kowloon Station, the new dim sum and roast shop from the family behind Hai Shin Lou. In BGC, Canton Road at Shangri-La The Fort is the hotel room to book, Summer Palace has served Cantonese at Edsa Shangri-La in Ortigas since 1992, and by the bay Man Ho, China Blue and Red Lantern at Solaire do the biggest lunches, with Red Lantern running an unlimited dim sum lunch every day. Every price below is as the restaurant or the press printed it, with the month.

Updated October 2026.

A note on the bill: hotel restaurants print prices that include 12% VAT (value added tax) and usually add a 10% service charge on top. A "++" after a price means both are added, and a single "+" means charges are added. Canton Road prints prices with service and taxes already in, so what you read is what you pay.

## Binondo, where it started

Binondo is Manila's Chinatown, across the Pasig River from Intramuros, and the dim sum here is everyday food: quick, cheap, eaten at a shared table with tea or milk tea. If you want a full day of it, our [Binondo food crawl](https://whatsonmnl.com/blog/binondo-food-crawl) puts these two stops in walking order with fried siopao, lumpia, fried chicken and mami.

**[Wai Ying Fastfood](https://whatsonmnl.com/place/wai-ying-fastfood)** is a Hong Kong style fast food shop on Benavidez Street, and the one most people name when you ask about dim sum in Binondo. Order hakaw and siomai from the steamers at the front, then the chong fan, soft rice noodle rolls filled with asado pork or shrimp. The roast duck and the beef brisket mami are the other reasons to come, and in February 2026 DZRH named it the stop for longevity noodles at Chinese New Year.
810 Benavidez Street, Binondo, Manila. ₱. Good to know: it is a walk-in place with no published booking, so go before the lunch rush.

**[Dong Bei Dumpling](https://whatsonmnl.com/place/dong-bei-dumpling)** makes dumplings in the style of northeast China, folded by hand and shaped, as DZRH put it, like ancient gold ingots. It is not a dim sum house in the Cantonese sense, but it is the dumpling stop on every Binondo walk, and a plate of boiled pork and chive dumplings to share is the order.
642 Yuchengco Street corner V. Tytana Street, Binondo, Manila. ₱. Tip: it sits between Ongpin and the lumpia house on our crawl route, so it works as a late morning stop.

## A hotel dim sum lunch in Makati and BGC

**[Shang Palace, Makati Shangri-La](https://whatsonmnl.com/place/shang-palace-makati-shangri-la)** is the hotel's Chinese restaurant on Level 2, a room of crystal chandeliers and wooden latticework, cooking Cantonese and Huaiyang dishes under executive Chinese chef Damon Ge, with Mark Zhao as dim sum chef. On the dim sum menu the Shang Palace shrimp dumplings are ₱380 for four, the shao mai with shrimp, pork and fish roe is ₱360, and the charcoal egg yolk lava buns are ₱360 for three, VAT included, plus 10% service. Until 30 May 2027 there are two lunch sets: a weekday dim sum and barbecue business lunch at ₱999++ from Monday to Thursday, and a Grand Dim Sum and Peking Duck lunch at ₱1,999++ from Friday to Sunday, both with three hours of free parking.
Level 2, Makati Shangri-La, Ayala Avenue corner Makati Avenue, Makati. ₱₱₱. Lunch daily 11:30am to 2:30pm; dinner daily 6pm to 10:30pm. Good to know: book on +63 2 8813 8888 or dining.makati@shangri-la.com. The sets are not served 1 to 2 November, 24 to 26 December, 31 December, 1 January and 5 to 7 February.

**[Canton Road](https://whatsonmnl.com/place/canton-road)** is the Cantonese restaurant on Level 3 of Shangri-La The Fort, with dim sum on the menu every day. The 2026 dim sum menu has crystal skin shrimp dumplings and pork and shrimp siu mai at ₱428 for four each, a steamed xiao long bao at ₱358, and the chef's slow-baked barbecue pork puff at ₱388, all with service charge and taxes included. Nine private rooms named after Hong Kong streets make it an easy choice for a family lunch. It is MICHELIN Selected for 2026.
Level 3, Shangri-La The Fort, 30th Street corner 5th Avenue, BGC, Taguig. ₱₱₱. Lunch daily 11:30am to 2:30pm; dinner daily 5pm to 10:30pm. Tip: book on +63 2 8820 0888, and come at lunch for dim sum, at dinner for the Peking duck.

## Casual Cantonese in Makati

**[Kowloon Station](https://whatsonmnl.com/place/kowloon-station)** opened in June 2026 at the Petron station on EDSA corner Pasay Road, just outside the Dasmariñas Village gate. It is run by the Tengco siblings, Amanda, Sandro and Xavi, whose family opened Hai Shin Lou on nearby Arnaiz Avenue in 2003. Chefs from Hong Kong run four stations, dim sum, dumpling, wok and roasting, and the room is designed like a Hong Kong MTR (Mass Transit Railway) station. Order hakaw, pork shao long bao, char siu pao and the house-made wonton noodle soup, then a plate of char siu or roast pork belly.
Petron Station, EDSA corner Antonio S. Arnaiz Avenue (Pasay Road), Makati. 11am to 9pm. Good to know: call +63 917 182 3588 to reserve or to order ahead for pickup; it also does takeaway and catering.

**[Super Uncle Claypot](https://whatsonmnl.com/place/super-uncle-claypot)** on Enriquez Street in Poblacion is built around Cantonese clay pot rice with a crisp crust, and each pot takes 20 to 30 minutes to cook. The MICHELIN inspectors' advice is to order dim sum to start while you wait, which makes this the dim sum stop for a late night: it stays open until 2am on Friday and Saturday.
5887 Enriquez Street, Poblacion, Makati. ₱₱. Sunday to Thursday 11am to midnight; Friday and Saturday 11am to 2am. Tip: walk in, or call +63 920 522 7238. For more after-hours eating, see [Late-Night Food in Manila](https://whatsonmnl.com/blog/late-night-food-in-manila).

## Ortigas

**[Summer Palace](https://whatsonmnl.com/place/summer-palace)** has been the Cantonese restaurant at Edsa Shangri-La since 1992, on Level 2 of the Tower Wing. The kitchen is Cantonese at heart with Sichuan and Beijing dishes on the list, and the dumplings, such as the generously packed shrimp parcels the MICHELIN inspectors mention, are made by a dim sum master. Round tables and a long Sunday lunch, from 10am to 3pm, make it a standing choice for family gatherings in Ortigas and Mandaluyong. It is MICHELIN Selected for 2026.
Level 2, Tower Wing, Edsa Shangri-La, 1 Garden Way, Ortigas Centre, Mandaluyong. ₱₱₱. Lunch Monday to Saturday 11:30am to 2:30pm, Sunday 10am to 3pm; dinner daily 6pm to 10:30pm. Good to know: book on +63 968 518 3513, especially for Sunday.

## By the bay: Pasay and Entertainment City

**[Man Ho](https://whatsonmnl.com/place/man-ho)** is the Cantonese restaurant on the ground floor of the Manila Marriott at Newport World Resorts, where a Hong Kong chef cooks char siu, braised abalone, Hong Kong style crispy chicken and double boiled soups. The MICHELIN inspectors single out the dim sum at lunch, and the steamed buns, har gow and siu mai are the ones to order. Five private rooms suit a family lunch. It is MICHELIN Selected for 2026.
Ground Floor, Manila Marriott Hotel, Newport World Resorts, 2 Resorts Drive, Pasay. ₱₱₱. Daily 11:30am to 10pm. Tip: call +63 2 7902 9818 and book a private room ahead for groups.

**[China Blue](https://whatsonmnl.com/place/china-blue)** sits on the third floor of Conrad Manila under soaring ceilings and a blue chandelier, looking straight out over Manila Bay. The menu is Cantonese at the core with dishes from across China, and the dim sum to order is the deep-fried pumpkin cake with minced pork and salted vegetables, which the MICHELIN inspectors named. A new menu by Jereme Leung and executive Chinese chef Eng Yew Khor launched in October 2026. It is MICHELIN Selected for 2026.
3F, Conrad Manila, Seaside Boulevard corner Coral Way, Mall of Asia Complex, Pasay. ₱₱₱. Daily 11am to 2:30pm and 6pm to 10pm. Good to know: book on +63 917 650 4043, the number the MICHELIN Guide lists, and ask for a window table at sunset.

**[Red Lantern, Solaire](https://whatsonmnl.com/place/red-lantern-solaire)** is Solaire's Chinese restaurant, and the one on this list with a true dim sum buffet. Its Delectable Dim Sum Days lunch is all you can eat from more than 46 kinds of dim sum, every day from 11:30am to 2:30pm, at ₱1,288+ a person on weekdays and ₱1,688+ on weekends and holidays (Solaire website, October 2026). ## Before you go

- **When to go.** Dim sum is a lunch meal. Hotel restaurants serve the full dim sum menu from 11:30am, and the lunch sets at Shang Palace and the unlimited lunch at Red Lantern end at 2:30pm. Super Uncle Claypot is the late option.
- **Booking.** Book the hotel rooms for weekend lunch, when families fill the round tables: Shang Palace, Canton Road, Summer Palace, Man Ho, China Blue and Red Lantern all take bookings by phone. We found no booking line for the Binondo places, so plan to walk in.
- **The bill.** Hotel prices include VAT and most add 10% service. Canton Road's printed prices already include both. In Binondo, bring cash in small notes.
- **Getting to Binondo.** Take LRT-1 (Light Rail Transit Line 1) to Carriedo station and walk, or set your Grab drop-off at Binondo Church. Parking is tight. See the [Binondo food crawl](https://whatsonmnl.com/blog/binondo-food-crawl) for the full route.
- **Parking in Makati.** Shang Palace's lunch sets include three hours of free parking at Makati Shangri-La.
