## Who Jason Mraz is, and why this show matters

Jason Mraz is an American singer-songwriter, born in Mechanicsville, Virginia, in 1977, who started out playing the coffee-house circuit in San Diego. His acoustic, easygoing pop has played Manila arenas four times since 2011, and the 2019 crowd sang along so loudly that The Philippine Star called the MOA Arena "a giant karaoke joint".

The songs most people know:

- **"The Remedy (I Won't Worry)"**, from his major-label debut, Waiting for My Rocket to Come (2002)
- **"I'm Yours"**, from We Sing. We Dance. We Steal Things. (2008), which reached No. 6 on the Billboard Hot 100
- **"Lucky"**, his duet with Colbie Caillat, which won a Grammy for Best Pop Collaboration With Vocals
- **"I Won't Give Up"**, from Love Is a Four Letter Word (2012), his second Hot 100 top ten

He has two Grammy Awards, both from the 2010 ceremony: Best Male Pop Vocal Performance for "Make It Mine" and Best Pop Collaboration With Vocals for "Lucky". Along the way he made his Broadway debut as Dr. Pomatter in Waitress (2017 to 2018) and finished runner-up on Dancing with the Stars in 2023.

His newest album, Grandma's Gospel Favorites, came out on 8 May 2026. He first recorded it nearly two decades ago as a gift for his grandmother, Mary Helen Mraz-Fowler, known in the family as Nanny Razz.

PULP Live World says the Manila show is a look back across his whole career, performed with a full band. It is also the night that opens the whole Asia tour, before Bangkok, Kuala Lumpur, Taipei, Hong Kong, Tokyo, Osaka and Seoul.

## Jason Mraz and Manila

A short history, from newspaper reports and fan archives:

- **2004:** SPOT.ph dates his first Manila show to a mini concert at Dish in Power Plant, on the same trip he guested on Eat Bulaga. (Philstar and the Inquirer have described the 2006 promo run as his first visit.)
- **January 2006:** a two-day promo run at the Rockwell Tent and the NBC Tent in Makati, for his first two albums.
- **30 October 2011:** his first full concert here, an acoustic night at the Smart Araneta Coliseum with percussionist Toca Rivera.
- **14 May 2013:** back at the Araneta with his band. The Inquirer reported "Over 10,000 people trooped to the Big Dome". Filipino YouTube singer Zendee Rose Tenerefe joined him for "Lucky".
- **27 November 2014:** the Araneta again, this time with the folk-rock band Raining Jane, touring his acoustic album YES!
- **8 May 2019:** the Good Vibes tour at the SM Mall of Asia Arena, his last show here, also presented by PULP Live World. The Philippine Star called the arena "jam-packed" and "a giant karaoke joint". Filipina singer Reneé Dominique sang "Lucky" with him, and he gave the live debut of "Could I Love You Any More" as a duet with her.

So two Filipina singers have now shared his Manila stage, both on "Lucky".

## What they have said about coming

Jason Mraz, in the tour announcement, as reported by [Bandwagon Asia](https://www.bandwagon.asia/articles/jason-mraz-to-hit-manila-bangkok-kuala-lumpur-hong-kong-more-as-part-of-his-asia-2026-tour) on 27 April 2026:

> "It is an honor to be returning to Asia. I'm deeply grateful for this extraordinary opportunity to perform and reconnect with our fans after all these years."

PULP Live World, on its [show page](https://www.pulpliveworld.com/Shows/292) at the 27 April 2026 announcement:

> "Marking his first run in seven years, the Manila stop promises an unforgettable night of timeless hits and fan favorites from across his 20+ year career, performed live with a full band."

On the new album, Mraz wrote on [jasonmraz.com](https://jasonmraz.com/grandmas-gospel-favorites-out-may-8/) on 3 April 2026:

> "This is what my grandma always wanted. And I hope you enjoy this album as much as she did. I personally think it goes down easier than okra."

And from the Manila stage in 2019, as reported by [The Philippine Star](https://www.philstar.com/entertainment/2019/05/12/1917022/jason-mraz-manila-only-good-vibes/amp/) on 12 May 2019:

> "I turn to music because it makes me feel better, life is weird. Music heals me…"

We found no 2026 interview where he talks about Manila specifically.

## What they have been playing

The Asia tour has not started yet. Manila is night one, so there are no setlists from this tour. The closest guide is his most recent run, the Still Yours 2026 East Coast Tour in the US, which ran from May to 10 June. This is what he played there, not a promise of what he will play here.

On 6 June 2026 at the Wang Theatre, Boston ([setlist.fm](https://www.setlist.fm/setlist/jason-mraz/2026/wang-theatre-boston-ma-5b7743d8.html)):

You and I Both; Living in the Moment; Love Someone; Unlonely; Have It All; Unfold; The Remedy (I Won't Worry); 3 Things; Little Time; Details in the Fabric; Peach Pie; Look for the Good / Life Is Wonderful / Bella Luna; Lucky; I Feel Like Dancing; Butterfly; You Matter to Me (Sara Bareilles cover); I'm Yours. Encore: I'm Coming Over; Song for a Friend; 93 Million Miles; I Won't Give Up; One Hell of a Memory (Gregory Page cover).

The final date of that tour, at the Brooklyn Paramount on 10 June ([setlist.fm](https://www.setlist.fm/setlist/jason-mraz/2026/brooklyn-paramount-brooklyn-ny-1377c571.html)), followed much the same shape. On both nights "I'm Yours" closed the main set and "I Won't Give Up" came near the end of the encore. "Lucky", "The Remedy" and "Have It All" were there both nights too.

Gregory Page opened those US shows. He has not been announced for Manila, so his cover may not appear here.
