*Nine places within a short walk of the Proscenium Theater in Rockwell, for a proper dinner, a quick bowl before curtain or a drink after the show, each checked open in October 2026.*

For dinner before a show at the Proscenium Theater in Rockwell, book Carmelo's Steakhouse upstairs on the Proscenium Retail Row, a mano or Din Tai Fung in Power Plant Mall, or The Test Kitchen at One Rockwell. For a quick bowl, Marudori at 8 Rockwell. After the show, Project Vino Reserve is next door to the theatre, The Perfect Pint pours its own beer a minute away, and Ayà and 12/10 keep their kitchens open late. Every place here is within about 300 metres of the theatre, in a straight line.

Updated October 2026.

The theatre sits inside Proscenium at Rockwell, on Estrella Street near J.P. Rizal Street. The Proscenium Retail Row is the open-air strip of shops and restaurants right outside its doors, and Power Plant Mall is across the Proscenium Link, the walkway between the two. Rockwell itself calls the mall "a stone's throw away". Plan to be seated early: the theatre asks you to arrive 30 to 45 minutes before curtain. For the theatre itself, see our [Proscenium Theater venue page](https://whatsonmnl.com/venue/the-proscenium-theater) and the seat guide in [Theatre Seat Plans in Manila](https://whatsonmnl.com/blog/theatre-seat-plans-manila).

## For a proper dinner before the show

**[Carmelo's Steakhouse](https://whatsonmnl.com/place/carmelos-steakhouse)** is the closest table to the stage door, on the second floor of the Proscenium Retail Row. Founded in 1987 and now run by chef Cristina Santiago, it is on the Michelin Guide's Selected list, which singles out the ribeye and tenderloin carved at the table with a classic red wine gravy. There is a private room for a celebration.

**[a mano](https://whatsonmnl.com/place/a-mano)** is the Italian on the R1 level of Power Plant Mall, the end nearest Lopez Drive. The pasta is made by hand and the pizza comes from a wood fire, and it is calm enough for a family before a matinee.

**[The Test Kitchen](https://whatsonmnl.com/place/the-test-kitchen)** is Josh Boutwood's bistro at the base of One Rockwell East Tower, from the chef behind Helm. It is on the Michelin Guide's 2026 list, and the braised Wagyu beef cheek is the dish to know. It is a small room, which suits two.
One Rockwell East Tower. ₱₱₱. Daily, 11am to 10pm. Good to know: book through joshboutwood.com or call +63 977 288 5751.

## For something quick before curtain

**[Din Tai Fung](https://whatsonmnl.com/place/din-tai-fung)** is the Taiwanese dumpling house on the R1 level of Power Plant Mall. The xiao long bao are the reason to go, and it is the most dependable quick dinner in the mall.
R1 Level, Power Plant Mall. ₱₱. Monday to Friday 11am to 9pm, Saturday 10am to 10pm, Sunday 10am to 9pm. Good to know: it closes at 9pm on weekdays, so this is a before-the-show stop only.

**[Marudori](https://whatsonmnl.com/place/marudori-rockwell)** is the chicken ramen shop of Nippon Hasha, the group behind Mendokoro Ramenba, on the ground floor of 8 Rockwell. The broth is a creamy chicken paitan, a lighter bowl than pork tonkotsu, and it is easy to eat alone.
Ground floor, 8 Rockwell. ₱₱. Monday to Thursday 11am to 9pm, Friday 11am to 10pm, Saturday 10am to 10pm, Sunday 10am to 9pm. Good to know: walk in, no booking.

If your group cannot agree, The Grid Food Market on the R2 level of Power Plant Mall has a counter for almost everything, including [Pilya's Kitchen](https://whatsonmnl.com/place/pilyas-kitchen) for hand-pulled biang biang noodles.

## For a drink or a late bite after the show

**[Project Vino Reserve](https://whatsonmnl.com/place/project-vino-reserve)** is the wine room of the Project Vino group, on the ground floor of the Proscenium Retail Row. A glass-walled, temperature-controlled wine room greets you as you walk in. From 10pm there is a late-night menu, so you can still get French oysters (₱990 for three), baked brie (₱980) or a red wine affogato (₱295) after the curtain call.
Proscenium Retail Row, J.P. Rizal Street. ₱₱₱. Monday to Thursday 11am to 11pm, Friday to Sunday 11am to 12am. Tip: book on the link at projectvino.ph or call +63 936 904 2652.

**[The Perfect Pint](https://whatsonmnl.com/place/the-perfect-pint-proscenium)** is the craft brewery's Rockwell pub, a minute from the theatre on the ground floor of the Retail Row. The beer is brewed in house, from the Thirsty Dog Weizen (₱190) to the Street Smart Pale Ale (₱230), and the food is pub platters and pizza made for sharing.
Unit 107-108, The Proscenium Residences. ₱₱. Daily from 11am until late. Tip: book a big table on SevenRooms or call +63 917 122 7806.

**[Ayà](https://whatsonmnl.com/place/aya)** is Hapag's lounge on the seventh floor of The Balmori Suites, reached by the lift across from Starbucks. It pours wine and cocktails made with local fruit, such as the kamias margarita, with Filipino small plates, and it is on the Michelin Guide's 2026 list.
7th floor, The Balmori Suites, Hidalgo Drive. ₱₱₱. Lunch 11am to 2pm, dinner from 6pm until late, last order at midnight. Tip: book on hapagmnl.com or call 0917 878 5757.

**[12/10](https://whatsonmnl.com/place/12-10)** is the Japanese izakaya of chef Gab Bustos on the ground floor of 8 Rockwell, on the Michelin Guide's 2026 list and Tatler's Best 20 Restaurants for 2026. Dinner runs until midnight, so it works for a late supper after an evening show.
Ground floor, 8 Rockwell, Lopez Drive. ₱₱₱. Dinner Monday to Saturday, 6pm to midnight; no dinner on Sunday. Tip: book on twelveten.ph.

## Before you go

- **Getting there.** Set your ride-hailing drop-off as The Proscenium Theater, Rockwell Center, on Estrella Street. If you drive, the theatre says there is ample parking in the basement levels of the Proscenium, or you can park at Power Plant Mall and walk over through the Proscenium Link. Parking fees apply.
- **Walking from Power Plant Mall.** Cross the Proscenium Link to the Retail Row and the theatre is right there. The Power Plant restaurants in this guide are all within about 300 metres.
- **Timing.** The lobby usually opens one hour before the show and the house 30 minutes before curtain. The theatre asks you to arrive 30 to 45 minutes early, so for an 8pm curtain, finish dinner by about 7:15pm. Late arrivals may be held until a break, and some shows do not seat latecomers at all.
- **Booking on show nights.** Book the sit-down places for any night with a show, and say what time you need to leave. Din Tai Fung and Marudori close at 9pm on most weeknights, so they are for before the show, not after.
- **Food in the theatre.** Food and drinks are not allowed in the Main Hall. Concessions are sold in the lobby.
- **Getting home.** Cars queue as the crowd leaves. Walking back to Power Plant Mall for a pick-up, or staying for a drink until the rush clears, is easier.
