*Where a table for one feels normal in Makati, BGC, Poblacion and Rockwell: ramen bars, a chef's counter, hotel bars and cocktail rooms where a seat at the bar becomes dinner.*

The easiest places to eat alone in Manila are ramen bars and counters: Mendokoro Ramenba in Salcedo Village, Makati and at Mitsukoshi in BGC, Marudori in Rockwell, and the eight-seat counter at Inatô in Makati for a special night. For a drink and something to eat at the bar, try the Long Bar at Raffles Makati, The Back Room or No Entry in BGC, or Run Rabbit Run and OTO in Poblacion. At all of them, a table or seat for one is ordinary.

Updated October 2026.

Eating alone in Manila is more common than visitors expect. Plenty of people in Makati and BGC eat on their own every working day, and the city has plenty of rooms where a single seat is the natural way to sit. The picks below are grouped by neighbourhood, so you can find one near where you are staying or working.

## Makati: Salcedo, Legazpi and Ayala

**Mendokoro Ramenba** is the classic answer in Makati. A ramen bar is made for one person, the bowl comes quickly, and nobody expects you to linger. The Salcedo Village branch stays open late, which helps after a long day.

G/F V. Corporate Centre Building, Soliman Street, Salcedo Village, Makati. Open 10am to 11pm.

**Nikkei Nama** on Rada Street in Legazpi Village is part of the Nikkei group, which cooks Japanese and Peruvian food together. It is a relaxed room for a lunch or early dinner on your own, close to the Legazpi offices.

G/F Frabelle Business Center, 111 Rada Street, Legaspi Village, Makati. Sunday to Tuesday and Thursday 11:30am to 9pm; Wednesday and Saturday 11:30am to 10:30pm; Friday 11:30am to 10pm.

**[Inatô](https://whatsonmnl.com/place/inato)** is the one to book when you want a proper dinner rather than a quick one. The main room is a communal counter of eight seats facing the kitchen, so a seat there puts you right in the middle of things. Chef JP Cruz changes the menu with the season, using Filipino techniques and flavours.

The Alley at Karrivin, Karrivin Plaza, 2316 Chino Roces Avenue Extension, Makati. Tuesday to Saturday; counter seatings at 6pm and 8:30pm. Reservations at reservations@inato.ph or by message to +63 945 478 0420 (no calls).

**The Long Bar at Raffles Makati** is a long hotel bar where sitting alone on a stool is the normal thing to do. It is styled after the Long Bar at Raffles Singapore, and the house drink is the Makati Luxury Sling, made with 24-karat gold flakes. Live music starts at 8pm from Tuesday to Saturday.

1st Floor Lobby, Raffles Makati, 1 Raffles Drive, Makati Avenue. Sunday to Thursday 5pm to midnight; Friday and Saturday 5pm to 1am.

**[The Lobby at The Peninsula Manila](https://whatsonmnl.com/place/the-peninsula-manila-lobby)** is the gentlest way to spend an afternoon alone in Makati. Afternoon tea overlaps with the live music, and a table for one under the big "Sunburst" sculpture feels perfectly natural.

Corner of Ayala and Makati Avenues. Open 7am to 11pm. Afternoon tea daily 2:30pm to 5pm.

## BGC

**Mendokoro Ramenba BGC** is on the ground floor of Mitsukoshi Mall, with the same late hours as Makati.

G/F Mitsukoshi Mall, 8th Avenue corner 36th Street, Bonifacio Global City. Open 10am to 11pm.

**Nikkei Nama** at One Bonifacio High Street is the BGC branch of the same Japanese and Peruvian kitchen, on the second floor.

2/F One Bonifacio High Street, 5th Avenue corner 28th Street, Bonifacio Global City. Sunday 11am to 9pm; Monday to Thursday 12pm to 9pm; Friday and Saturday 11am to 11pm.

**[No Entry](https://whatsonmnl.com/place/no-entry-cocktail-club)** describes itself as cocktails, an open kitchen and live music, which is a good mix for a night out on your own: a seat at the bar, something to eat and live music to listen to.

Ground Floor, Unit G-4B, One Neo Building, 3rd Avenue corner 26th Street, Bonifacio Global City. Monday to Thursday 4pm to 1am; Friday 4pm to 2am; Saturday 6pm to 2am; Sunday 6pm to 1am. Reservations at reservations@habitathospitality.ph or WhatsApp +63 945 617 5129.

**[The Back Room](https://whatsonmnl.com/place/the-back-room)** is a 1920s-style bar hidden behind a shoeshine chair on 30th Street, inside Shangri-La The Fort. It has a food menu as well as cocktails, so a bar seat can become dinner.

Street Level, Shangri-La The Fort, 30th Street corner 5th Avenue, Bonifacio Global City. Monday to Sunday 6pm to 2am. Smart casual.

## Poblacion

Poblacion, the old town centre of Makati, is the best area for a night alone that moves between a few places, because the bars sit a short walk apart. Our guide to the [best bars in Poblacion](https://whatsonmnl.com/blog/best-bars-in-poblacion) has more.

**[Run Rabbit Run](https://whatsonmnl.com/place/run-rabbit-run)** has made cocktails in Manila since 2018, now from a warm, low-lit room at Six Axis Center. The drinks lean on fresh ingredients, spice and herbs, and a seat at the bar is the best place to watch them being made.

Ground Floor, Six Axis Building, 4347 B. Valdez Street, Poblacion, Makati. Monday to Thursday 6pm to 1am; Friday and Saturday 6pm to 3am.

**[OTO](https://whatsonmnl.com/place/oto)** is a Poblacion bar built around music, with a DJ or guest selector on most nights from Wednesday to Saturday. Coming alone is easy here, because the music gives you something to pay attention to. It opens in the afternoon, so an early, quiet visit is possible too.

5883 Enriquez Street, Poblacion, Makati. Tuesday to Sunday 2pm to 1am. Reservations by Instagram message.

## Rockwell

**Marudori Ramenba** in Rockwell comes from the same group as Mendokoro and is the simplest solo dinner in the area: a bowl, a seat and out.

G/F 8 Rockwell Center, Hidalgo Drive, Makati. Open 11am to 11pm.

**[Nikkei](https://whatsonmnl.com/place/nikkei)** at One Rockwell is the Rockwell branch of the Japanese and Peruvian group, which opened its first restaurant in 2015. It stays open until 11pm on Friday and Saturday.

G/F One Rockwell, West Tower, 71 Rockwell Drive, Makati. Monday to Thursday 12pm to 10pm; Friday and Saturday 11am to 11pm; Sunday 11am to 10pm.

## A few tips for eating alone

Go early or late. A single seat is easiest to find either side of the main dinner rush. Sit at the bar or counter when there is one; you get faster service and something to watch. And if you want to stay out after dinner, see our guide to [late-night food in Manila](https://whatsonmnl.com/blog/late-night-food-in-manila) for what is open after midnight.
