## Who Zara Larsson is, and why this show matters

Zara Larsson is a Swedish singer from Stockholm. She won Talang, Sweden's version of Got Talent, in 2008 at the age of 10, and released her debut album, 1, in 2014. She has now been in the public eye for nearly two decades, and she is 28.

The songs most people know:

- **"Lush Life"**, her 2015 breakthrough, which came back in a big way a decade later
- **"Never Forget You"**, her duet with British producer and singer MNEK, which reached No. 13 on the Billboard Hot 100 in 2016
- **"Symphony"**, her 2017 song with the English group Clean Bandit, the one with the "I just wanna be part of your symphony" hook
- **"Ain't My Fault"**, from her 2017 album So Good

The last two years changed everything for her. In the summer of 2024, "Symphony" found a second life on TikTok as a meme set to a painting of dolphins, and Zara leaned into it, putting dolphin imagery into her shows. Her album Midnight Sun came out on 26 September 2025, made again with MNEK. Its title track earned her first Grammy nomination, for best dance pop recording. She opened arena shows for Tate McRae in 2025. Then a fan joined her on stage for the "Lush Life" dance break in Amsterdam in November 2025, the clip went viral, and the ten-year-old song went back onto the Hot 100.

Her verse on the remix of PinkPantheress's "Stateside" went further still. Billboard reports it reached No. 6 on the Hot 100 and No. 1 on the Billboard Global 200, and Billboard named her its 2026 Women in Music Breakthrough. When we checked her Spotify page on 20 October 2026, she had about 53.2 million monthly listeners.

So the Zara Larsson coming to Cubao is not the one Manila saw in 2017. She was one act of six that night. This time it is her own full show.

## Zara Larsson and Manila

From newspaper reports and setlist archives:

- **17 August 2017:** Zara Larsson played In The Mix 2017 at the SM Mall of Asia Arena in Pasay, on a bill with 5 Seconds of Summer, Dua Lipa, DNCE, Daya and Two Door Cinema Club. The Philippine Star called her "the biggest suprise of the night". She worked Ed Sheeran's "Shape of You" into "Don't Let Me Be Yours", a song she co-wrote with him, and told the crowd at the end that she had not been feeling well. The partial list on setlist.fm for that night ends with "Symphony" and "Lush Life".
- **The morning after:** she thanked the city on Twitter. The Manila Standard printed the post (see below).
- **30 October 2026:** her first solo concert in the Philippines, at the Smart Araneta Coliseum. Billboard Philippines describes it as her "first-ever solo concert" and her return to the country "in nearly a decade".

Some announcements this year called it her first time in Manila. That is not right. She has performed here once before, but never her own headline show.

## What she has said about coming

After In The Mix in 2017, as reported by [the Manila Standard](https://manilastandard.net/mobile/article/244844) on 19 August 2017:

> "Thank you Manila. Thank you for cheering on and for giving me so much energy last night. I can't wait to be back."

On this tour, speaking to [Vogue Singapore](https://vogue.sg/zara-larsson-vogue-singapore-interview/) on 28 May 2026:

> "Performing live is my biggest passion, so it's been quite emotional and very rewarding. You can look at numbers online, but when a room gets bigger because more people want to come and dance and sing with you, that's something different. It feels like people are not just listening, they're rooting for me. I feel very grateful."

On the album the tour is named after, in the biography on the [Ticketnet event page](https://www.ticketnet.com.ph/event-detail/Zara-Larsson-2026):

> "I wanted the whole album to feel like it's a summer night and it never ends. And it doesn't matter if it's December: the summer night will be there for you."

We found no 2026 interview where she talks about Manila specifically.

## What she has been playing

The Midnight Sun Tour has been on the road since late 2025. Manila comes straight after the Australia and New Zealand dates, and before Bangkok on 1 November. These are recent dates, not a promise of what she will play here.

On 18 October 2026 at the Adelaide Entertainment Centre ([setlist.fm](https://www.setlist.fm/setlist/zara-larsson/2026/adelaide-entertainment-centre-adelaide-australia-6b4bca2e.html)):

Midnight Sun; Blue Moon; Can't Tame Her; SHE DID IT AGAIN (Tyla cover); I Would Like / Sundown; Love Me Land; All the Time; Pretty Ugly; Wow; Ain't My Fault; Hot & Sexy; The Ambition; Girl's Girl; Stateside (PinkPantheress cover); Eurosummer; Never Forget You; Ruin My Life; Saturn's Return; Puss Puss; Lush Life; Symphony (Clean Bandit cover); Midnight Sun.

The night before, at Margaret Court Arena in Melbourne ([setlist.fm](https://www.setlist.fm/setlist/zara-larsson/2026/margaret-court-arena-melbourne-australia-6b4bca2a.html)), the order was almost the same. She brought a fan on stage for the "Lush Life" dance and closed with "Symphony" and a reprise of "Midnight Sun". The first Brisbane show on 13 October ([setlist.fm](https://www.setlist.fm/setlist/zara-larsson/2026/riverstage-brisbane-australia-1b4b21ec.html)) also had "Crush".

The show is split into acts with dancers, and it is built around the new album, so expect most of Midnight Sun. On the recent dates we checked, "Lush Life", "Never Forget You" and "Symphony" all came near the end. Setlist.fm logged the Melbourne set at 9:00 PM to 10:35 PM, and the Brisbane set at 8:05 PM to 9:35 PM, so plan on roughly an hour and a half of Zara.

## Getting there and back

It is a Friday night in Cubao, so plan around end-of-week traffic on EDSA and Aurora Boulevard, and leave earlier than you think. The MRT-3 and LRT-2 both have Araneta Center-Cubao stations a short walk away. Our [Araneta Coliseum concert guide](https://whatsonmnl.com/blog/araneta-coliseum-concert-guide) covers the trains, the gates and how to get home after.
