Birdjovi is a nine seat yakitori counter on the ground floor of the Comuna building in Makati, opened in early 2026 by chef Takuto Kato from Nagoya. It is the city sister of Yakitori Ao'chan, the shop in Carmona, Cavite that food people had been driving out to since 2023.

The omakase works through the bird one cut at a time, from thigh and neck to heart, liver and tail, seasoned with salt and grilled over binchotan charcoal, with a kanpachi course and a chicken ramen built in front of you near the end. The room is small and dark, so all the light falls on the grill.

## Why go

2. Yakitori omakase at ₱4,500, or a 13 dish Utage course at ₱2,800 plus service
3. Weekend lunch omakase, rare for a counter like this
4. Ends with a chicken ramen made in front of you
