The Den is a cafe and shop inside HUB Make Lab, a creative hub on the ground floor of the historic First United Building on Escolta Street. Its signature, the Berg's, mixes espresso with coconut milk and muscovado and is named after the department store that once stood here.

The espresso is a Philippine blend from Escolta Coffee Company, and the kitchen does pastas, rice bowls and a grilled cheese. Wifi is free for two hours, so treat it as a working stop on a day in old Manila rather than a full-day desk.
