A play cafe for toddlers in BF Homes, with coffee for you
Kinderplay Cafe opened on El Grande Avenue at the end of September, with a climbing wall, a ball pit, a pretend farm and Bean Block coffee for whoever is watching. Playgroups for ages 1 to 4 start on 3 November.
Kinderplay Cafe is on El Grande Avenue in BF Homes, in a white building with its name in coloured letters over the door. It opened at the end of September. Inside is one bright floor laid with soft green mats, where children from 9 months to 7 years can climb, dig through a ball pit and run a pretend shop while their grown-ups sit a few steps away with a coffee.
A climbing wall sized for small hands
The centre of the room is a set of wooden climbing frames with coloured holds and soft mats underneath. Next to it a slide runs down into a round ball pit, and around the edges are train tables, a reading and colouring corner, and a small piano.
Pretend play, done properly
A lot of the toys are for pretending. There is a little farm with a barn and plush animals, a kitchen with a pop-up toaster, wooden tanghulu sticks to sell from a shop counter, and costumes for whoever wants to be the chef. The toys are wooden sets and Melissa & Doug, chosen for toddlers.
Coffee for you while they climb
The coffee is from Bean Block Coffee Roasters, with matcha, Yakult lemonade and milkshakes for the rest of the table. The kitchen does pasta, sandwiches, nuggets, siomai and waffles, from ₱79 for a fruit cup to ₱179 for a baked macaroni. Tables sit right beside the play floor, so you can watch from your seat.
The whole cafe is cleaned with UV light and ozone every night after closing.
