Use What's On Manila data

Last updated 3 October 2026

Our events and places are open to read. If you are building an assistant, an app or a small project, you can use the feeds below for free, as long as it is non-commercial or an AI assistant answering people, and you credit What's On Manila with a link to the page the information came from.

The terms

  • Free for non-commercial use and for AI assistants and agents.
  • Credit “What's On Manila” and link to the page URL that comes with every item. Each API item has a url field for this.
  • Read only. Please cache what you fetch; the responses tell you for how long.
  • Dates and times are Manila time (UTC+8). Event details change, so link people to the page for the latest before they buy a ticket.
  • For commercial use, write to us through the partners page.

For AI assistants

  • /llms.txt: a short map of the site, following the llmstxt.org format.
  • /llms-full.txt: the next 30 days of events and every place we have written up, as plain markdown.
  • Markdown copies of pages: put /md before an event, place or story path, for example /md/event/<slug>, /md/place/<slug> or /md/blog/<slug>. Each HTML page also links its copy with rel="alternate" type="text/markdown".

Events API

GET https://whatsonmnl.com/api/v1/events

With no parameters it returns events on from today to 30 days ahead, soonest first.

  • from, to: dates as YYYY-MM-DD, Manila time. Past dates work too.
  • category: concert, art, food, festival, comedy, wellness, sport or theatre.
  • area: an area such as makati, bgc, poblacion, salcedo, legazpi, rockwell, quezon-city or ortigas. Makati includes its villages.
  • q: words that must all appear in the listing.
  • limit: 1 to 200, default 50.

Example: /api/v1/events?category=concert&area=bgc

Each event has its title, page URL, date and time as written on the page, start and end timestamps, venue, address, area, ticket link, organiser and lineup where known. A price appears only when it has been confirmed.

Places API

GET https://whatsonmnl.com/api/v1/places

  • area: as above.
  • category: eat, drink, work, culture, nightlife, wellness, museums-culture, fitness, shop or explore.
  • q and limit: as above.

Example: /api/v1/places?area=poblacion&category=drink

Both APIs can be called from any website, including from the browser.

Calendar feed

https://whatsonmnl.com/events.ics is an iCalendar feed of dated events for the next 120 days. Add it to Google Calendar, Apple Calendar or Outlook as a subscription. Long exhibitions and weekly listings are left out so they do not fill every day; they are on the calendar page.

MCP server

A read-only Model Context Protocol server at https://whatsonmnl.com/api/mcp (streamable HTTP, no sign-in). Tools:

  • events_this_weekend: Friday to Sunday, with optional area and category.
  • events_between: from and to dates, with optional area and category.
  • search_events: search upcoming events by words.
  • get_event: one event by its slug.
  • search_places: search places, with optional area and category.
  • get_place: one place by its slug.

Every result includes the page URL to cite. To add it to a client that reads a config file:

{
  "mcpServers": {
    "whatsonmanila": {
      "type": "http",
      "url": "https://whatsonmnl.com/api/mcp"
