About this event

San Juan marks the anniversary of the 1896 Battle of San Juan del Monte, the first major engagement of the Philippine Revolution, on the ground where Katipuneros attacked the Spanish powder magazine. The city government and the National Historical Commission hold wreath laying, a civic parade and programmes around the memorial shrine.
