Kamuning Bakery opened in 1939 and was Quezon City's first bakery. Writer and entrepreneur Wilson Lee Flores later took it over and revived it, and it still bakes in a pugon, a wood-fired brick oven, whose floor is swept clean every day so the pan de sal de suelo can be baked straight on it. Come for pandesal and pan de suelo, egg pie, cheese rolls and hopia, with pancit and palabok at the cafe tables. Every 16 October it gives away pandesal for World Pandesal Day, which it started in 2015.
