Pino is one of the restaurants Teachers Village grew up around: Filipino comfort food, reworked a little, in a wood-beamed room on Malingap Street. The bestseller is the kare-kareng bagnet, crisp Ilocos-style pork belly in a peanut sauce with house bagoong. Its sister Pipino serves a vegan menu from the same address, so a mixed table of meat eaters and vegans can share one lunch. Upstairs is Mugen, a small cocktail bar for later.
