Manila Metropolitan Theater

The Manila Metropolitan Theater, or the MET, is a 1931 Art Deco theatre in Ermita, Manila, designed by Juan M. Arellano. It reopened on 10 December 2021 after a long restoration, and the National Commission for Culture and the Arts (NCCA) runs it. Its Main Theater seats 990. It hosts orchestra concerts, choirs and other live shows, and three of the eight concerts in the Philippine Philharmonic Orchestra's 2026 to 2027 season take place here.

Seat plan

The MET has one main hall with a ground floor (Orchestra) and an upper Balcony, reached by stairways on both sides of the foyer. Published MET seat plans use the zones Orchestra Center, Orchestra Sides and Balcony. The venue does not publish one fixed seat plan. Each show sets its own zones and prices, so use the seat map on your event's ticketing page.

  • Orchestra Center

Ground floor, middle block facing the stage. The top price zone on the Hangad concert poster for October 2026.

  • Orchestra Sides

Ground floor blocks to the left and right of center. Mid price on the Hangad poster; the view is a little side-on.

  • Balcony

Upper level, reached by the foyer stairways. The lowest price zone on the Hangad poster; further from the stage.

Getting there

  • By train: LRT-1 Central Terminal station on Antonio Villegas Street is right by the MET, Arroceros Forest Park and Manila City Hall. Walk a few minutes to Padre Burgos Avenue.
  • From Makati: take MRT-3 to Taft Avenue station, cross the elevated walkway to LRT-1 EDSA station, then ride LRT-1 north to Central Terminal.
  • From BGC: ride-hailing or taxi is the simplest option. Ask for the Metropolitan Theater on Padre Burgos Avenue, Lawton, beside Manila City Hall.
  • By river: the Pasig River Ferry has a Quezon Bridge/Lawton station near the MET. It runs Monday to Saturday, 6:00 am to 6:00 pm, so it suits matinees, not the trip home after an evening show. Guadalupe (Makati) is on a different ferry line, so check the route before you go.
  • By bus: the Lawton Park N' Ride bus terminal is next to Central Terminal station.
  • Traffic: the MET is in a busy, high-traffic area around Lawton. Leave extra time on weekday evenings. We could not find official parking information, so ask the organizer before you drive.

Before you go

  • For Philippine Philharmonic Orchestra concerts at the MET, TicketWorld's venue policy says the event is only open to children 3 years old and above, one adult may bring up to 2 minors, and everyone must have a ticket.
  • For Ticketmelon shows such as Hangad, all sales are final, with refunds only if the event is cancelled or postponed (ticket value only, fees are not refunded).
  • The venue has not published a general bag, food or camera policy. Check your event's ticketing page.
  • Use the train if you can: Central Terminal on LRT-1 is next door, and the area around Lawton gets heavy traffic in the evening.
  • Arrive 30 to 45 minutes early to see the restored foyer, with its reproductions of Fernando Amorsolo's paintings, and the backlit art glass sign on the facade.
  • Check the seat plan on your own event's ticketing page. Zones and prices change from show to show.
  • For an evening show, plan your ride home before you arrive. The river ferry stops at 6:00 pm.
  • For PPO concerts, senior citizen, persons with disabilities (PWD) and diplomat discounts and accessible seats are handled by phone or at TicketWorld outlets: call 0917 550 6997 or 0999 954 5922.
  • Make a day of it: Arroceros Forest Park, the Pasig River Esplanade and Escolta Street are all a short walk or ride away.
