About this event

Ballet Manila closes its PRIMA Performance Season, which marks Lisa Macuja Elizalde's 40th homecoming year, with a full-length staging of Petipa's La Bayadère. Both evenings are headlined by Mariinsky Ballet principals Renata Shakirova and Kimin Kim, returning after their 2025 Manila debut in Don Quixote, and the bill includes the celebrated Kingdom of the Shades scene. This is a rare opportunity to see Russian principal dancing at this level in the city, and the company's Vaganova lineage makes it worth crossing town for. Two nights only, August 22 and 23 at the Aliw Theater in the CCP Complex; book through Ticketworld well ahead, as classical ballet of this calibre draws a serious crowd.
