Who TOTO are
The 2027 shows mark 50 years of the band. Toto IV won Album of the Year at the 1983 Grammy Awards, and "Rosanna" won Record of the Year the same night. GMA News puts "Africa" at over two billion plays on Spotify alone.
Philstar Life lists "Hold the Line", "I'll Be Over You" and "Georgy Porgy" among their hits, and "I Won't Hold You Back" and "Stop Loving You" were both in the 2025 Manila set.
Steve Lukather and Joseph Williams lead the band now. Co-founding keyboardist David Paich is not in the current touring lineup, but he is quoted in the anniversary announcement (below).
TOTO and Manila
TOTO have a long history here. setlist.fm, the fan-kept concert archive, lists these Philippine shows:
- 20 and 21 November 1992: Folk Arts Theater, on the Kingdom of Desire tour.
- 18 April 1996: Folk Arts Theater, on the Tambu tour.
- 13 and 14 February 2004: Aliw Theater, on their 25th anniversary tour.
- 3 April 2008: Araneta Coliseum, Quezon City, on the Falling in Between tour.
- 4 May 2025: SM Mall of Asia Arena, on the Dogz of Oz tour.
The 2025 show was "their first show in the country in 17 years", as GMA News put it. setlist.fm lists a set that opened with "Child's Anthem" and ended with "Africa", with Arnel Pineda as a guest on that last song. Nobody has said whether anything like that is planned for 2027.
What they have said about coming back
In SM Ticketmaster's announcement on 4 November 2026, Steve Lukather said:
"From the earliest stages of our career, the Philippines has supported Toto. There is a mutual affection between us and the entire country. I can't wait to bring them great shows featuring Joe, myself and a band comprised of world-class musicians. It's going to be a great time for everyone in the venue come 2027."
In Billboard Philippines' report, David Paich said he never expected the songs, written half a century ago, to keep finding new listeners decades later. Joseph Williams added: "I'm so proud of our current TOTO, Dogz Of Oz."
SM Ticketmaster adds that across 2025 and 2026 TOTO played to "more than 850,000 ticket holders across the globe".
What they have been playing
The anniversary set list is not out. For a sense of the night, this is what setlist.fm lists for their 29 August 2026 show at Pine Knob Music Theatre in Clarkston, Michigan, on their 2026 summer tour. Treat it as a recent show, not a promise for Manila:
- Goodbye Elenore
- Rosanna
- Hydra
- Georgy Porgy
- I Won't Hold You Back
- Endless
- Kingdom of Desire
- Pamela
- I'll Be Over You
- I'll Supply the Love
- Taint Your World
- Hold the Line
- Africa
Keyboard solos from Rai Thistlethwayte and Dennis Atlas sit between the songs, and Keith Carlock takes a drum solo in "Taint Your World". The Manila set in 2025 also had "Carmen", "99", "Stop Loving You", "White Sister" and "Angel Don't Cry".
Getting there and back
The show is on a Monday, a work night, and the whole arena leaves at once. Plan your ride home before the encore, and leave earlier than you think on the way in. Our MOA Arena concert guide covers how to get to the arena and how to get home after.
