The best things to do in Manila at night go well past the club: an evening walk through Fort Santiago and along the Pasig River Esplanade, a rooftop drink over Makati or BGC, a small room with live jazz, a stand-up show, a night food market, or claypot rice late in Poblacion. Below are twelve evenings that work right now, grouped by the kind of night you want.
Updated October 2026.
With a date
Mistral Rooftop Bar, Raffles Makati. A tenth-floor bar facing the Makati skyline, built for the hour when the sun goes down and the towers light up. DJs play from 8pm to 11pm Thursday to Saturday, so pick a Sunday to Wednesday if you want to talk. Makati, Ayala Center side. Sunday to Wednesday 5pm to midnight, Thursday to Saturday 5pm to 1am. Tip: arrive soon after 5pm for the sunset.
Straight Up, Seda BGC. The rooftop bar on the 22nd floor of the Seda hotel, with an indoor lounge and an open-air terrace. It is the easiest view in BGC to pair with dinner on the ground nearby. Bonifacio Global City (BGC), Taguig. Opens 4pm daily. Tip: happy hour runs 4pm to 7pm daily until 31 October 2026, with buy one, take one on cocktails, beer and wine by the glass.
78-45-33. A small jazz cocktail bar behind the rear entrance of LPL Mansions in Salcedo Village, with live sets and a room made for listening. It is one of the best places in the city for a first or fiftieth date. Salcedo Village, Makati. ₱₱₱. Daily 4pm to midnight; set times on Instagram. Tip: reserve by Viber before 5pm on the day; walk-ins are welcome if a table is free.
Good to know: if you would rather sit at a bar than on a roof, Fat Cat in Makati and No Entry Cocktail Club in BGC are both on Tatler's 2026 list of the 20 best bars in the Philippines. Our date ideas page has more.
With friends
Cattery. A cocktail bar that is also a live music room, from Ron Cruz and Fifi Capicoy, the couple behind Fat Cat, and steps away from it on Chino Roces Avenue. Go for the music and stay for a second round. Pio del Pilar, Makati. ₱₱. Tip: check Cattery's Instagram for who is playing, and message ahead for Friday and Saturday.
Stand-up comedy with Comedy Manila and Conyo Manila. Comedy Manila, the long-running stand-up collective, has shows most weekends this month, mainly at The KoolPals Bar at Cellar in Century Park Hotel, Malate, and at Vault in Greenhills (inside Tittos). Many sets are in Taglish (a mix of Tagalog and English). Closer to the business district, Conyo Manila, a joint project of Comedy Manila, The KoolPals and Comedy Cebu, holds a monthly Thursday showcase at 8pm in English and Taglish. The October show is on the 15th at Monarch Manila Lounge in Legazpi Village. Malate, Greenhills and Legazpi Village. Comedy Manila tickets run from ₱300 to ₱800 depending on the show; Conyo Manila is ₱1,500, or ₱1,000 early bird until 8 October. Tip: Comedy Manila tickets are cheaper online than at the door.
Mercato Centrale at Bridgetowne. Mercato Centrale's night food market at Bridgetowne in Pasig, a short walk from the Ortigas East offices. Expect grilled skewers, tacos, rice meals, juices and craft beer, with a rotating set of new food businesses trying out their ideas. Bridgetowne, Pasig. Tuesday to Sunday 4pm to midnight, closed Monday. Tip: from BGC it is a straight run up C5, but allow 30 to 45 minutes in evening traffic. Go on a weeknight for easier seating.

Low-key nights
Intramuros and the Pasig River Esplanade. Fort Santiago, the old citadel at the river mouth, now stays open until 10pm. From the fort's riverside you walk straight onto the Pasig River Esplanade, a traffic-free public promenade where the lights come on around 6pm and food stalls trade from 3pm to midnight. Intramuros, Manila. Fort Santiago ₱75 (₱50 for students, seniors and persons with disability). Weekdays 8am to 10pm, last walk-in entry 8pm; weekends 6am to 10pm, last walk-in entry 8:30pm. Entry after those times is only for bookings made through Klook. Tip: start around 5pm so you catch the last light on the water.
Ayala Triangle Gardens. A rare stretch of trees and lawns in the middle of the Makati business district, with restaurants and bars around its edge. After work it is a calm place for a walk, and it hosts a lights and sounds show in the holiday season. Makati Central Business District. Daily 6am to 10pm. Tip: check @ayalatriangle for the 2026 holiday show dates and times.
Cinematheque Centre Manila. The Film Development Council of the Philippines (FDCP) moved its repertory cinema into a new home in Intramuros in 2026. It is an 80-seat theatre with a laser projector, showing restored Filipino classics, documentaries and contemporary films, and it pairs well with the walk above. Intramuros, Manila. Tip: the programme changes week to week, so check the FDCP screenings page before you go. In Makati, Alliance Française runs a weekly French film night on Wednesdays.
I'M Onsen Spa. Japanese-style hot and cold pools, sauna, massage rooms and a tea lounge, open late. It is the kind of evening that works alone or as a couple when you do not want a drink at all. Makati Avenue corner Kalayaan Avenue, at the edge of Poblacion. ₱₱₱. Daily noon to 2am. Tip: book ahead by phone or email; weeknights are calmer than weekends.
Late-night food
Super Uncle Claypot. Cantonese claypot rice cooked to order, with the crisp crust at the bottom that people come for. On weekends the lights go down after 10pm and the room turns lively, with karaoke on Fridays and DJs on Saturdays. Enriquez Street, Poblacion. ₱₱. Tip: walk in, and go before 10pm at weekends if you want to talk.
Thai-Noy Cuisine. A dependable Thai kitchen on P. Burgos Street that stays open until 3am every day, useful after a show or a late bar. Poblacion, Makati. ₱₱. Daily 11am to 3am. Tip: one of the few sit-down meals in the area after 1am.
Good to know: for a proper dinner that runs late, Rekdi grills Filipino food until 1am Tuesday to Sunday, and takes reservations by text. More in Poblacion and on our eat and drink page.
Before you go
- Plan around traffic, not distance. Weekday evenings from 5pm to 8pm are the slowest. If you are heading from BGC or Makati to Intramuros, leave before 5pm or after 8pm, and allow up to an hour either way.
- Book the small rooms. 78-45-33, Cattery on weekends, I'M Onsen and the rooftops at sunset all fill up. A message the same morning is usually enough on a weeknight.
- Check the day. Many bars close on Monday, and Mercato Centrale does too. Fort Santiago and the esplanade are open daily.
- Dress. Hotel rooftops lean smart casual, so leave the beach slippers at home. Intramuros is a walk on uneven stone, so wear flat shoes.
- Payment. Bars and hotels take cards. At night markets and esplanade stalls, carry cash or have GCash or Maya ready.
- Getting home. Ride-hailing prices often climb after midnight on Fridays and Saturdays. Book a few minutes before you want to leave, or walk to a main road where cars can stop.
