The best ramen in Manila, by area
From the MICHELIN listed Ramen Ron to a ten seat crab ramen counter on Maginhawa, here is where to get a serious bowl near you, with prices as printed and what to order.
The best ramen in Manila right now is at the two ramen shops in the MICHELIN Guide's 2026 selection: Ramen Ron in Rockwell, and The Underbelly at Karrivin, which holds a Bib Gourmand. Close behind are Zagin Soba in Salcedo Village for frothy chicken paitan, Marudori in Rockwell for chicken ramen, and Mendokoro Ramenba and Ramen Ibuki in BGC. In Ortigas, go to Ramen Yushoken at Capitol Commons; in Quezon City, queue for Mugen Ramenya on Maginhawa. For a bowl after midnight, Menya Ippondo in Little Tokyo is open until 5am.
Updated October 2026.
Manila has plenty of ramen, and a lot of it is the same rich pork bowl from a mall chain. The places below are the ones we would send a friend to: shops with a clear style, broths made in house and, in most cases, a counter where you can watch the bowl being built. They are grouped by area so you can find one near you. A note on ownership: Mendokoro, Marudori and Yushoken all belong to one group, Nippon Hasha. They earn their places, but they share a way of cooking, so try one of the independents too. Prices below are as the restaurant or the press printed them, with the month.
BGC
Mendokoro Ramenba BGC is the ramen bar many people in Manila measure the others against. Its bowls are tonkotsu, pork bone broth, seasoned with soy (shoyu) or salt (shio), with soft chashu, and the tantanmen is the pick if you want something creamy and spicy. The BGC branch at Mitsukoshi has a long counter that wraps around the open kitchen under a ceiling hung with wooden ramen spoons. The original is in Salcedo Village, Makati. Unit 0109, Ground Floor, Mitsukoshi Mall, 8th Avenue corner 36th Street. ₱₱. Daily, 10am to 11pm. Good to know: walk in only, and the counter is made for eating alone.
Ramen Ibuki Uptown BGC opened at Uptown Parade in early 2026, the first Philippine shop from Japanese ramen producer Takafumi Shimada, known as Shimayan. It is the answer if pork broth is too heavy for you: the house style is a clear seafood and chicken dashi, plus a foamy chicken paitan, with noodles made in house. Add a splash of vinegar to the dashi and order the chashu rice bowl on the side. Ground Floor, Uptown Parade, 9th Avenue. ₱₱. Monday to Thursday 11am to 4pm and 5pm to 11pm; Friday and Saturday 10am to 2am; Sunday 11am to 11pm. Tori Foam Ramen ₱560, Dashi Ramen ₱490, Shell Dashi Ramen ₱490 (Philippine Primer, February 2026). Tip: it books online through the Vikings Group site, and there is a second branch at Opus Mall in Quezon City.
Makati: Rockwell, Salcedo, Legazpi and Karrivin
Ramen Ron is the ramen shop the MICHELIN inspectors chose for the 2026 guide. It is an AF Hospitality shop at the foot of Edades Tower, and its broth is built on ukokkei, the silky fowl chicken. The menu runs from shoyu and miso to tantanmen and a tsukemen that comes with a hot stone to reheat the dipping broth. Michelin noted a lunch crowd that includes Japanese customers, which is a good sign. GF, RS 103, Edades Tower, Amorsolo Drive, Rockwell. ₱₱. Monday to Thursday and Sunday 11am to 9pm, Friday and Saturday 11am to 10pm. Signature Tantanmen ₱550, Ukokkei Beef Shoyu Ramen ₱690, Tori Gyokai Tsukemen ₱580, plus 10% service. Tip: do not skip the karaage.
Marudori Rockwell is a short walk from Ramen Ron and the chicken ramen house of the Mendokoro group. The broth is tori paitan, whole chicken cooked down until thick and creamy, and the ramen is made entirely with chicken, so it suits anyone who does not eat pork. Start with the shio paitan, or try the shoyu paitan with grilled chicken thigh. This branch also makes an off menu clam ramen in a clear broth; ask for the Asari. Ground Floor, 8 Rockwell, Hidalgo Drive. ₱₱. Monday to Thursday 11am to 9pm, Friday 11am to 10pm, Saturday 10am to 10pm, Sunday 10am to 9pm. Good to know: there is a second Marudori in Salcedo Village.
Zagin Soba is the newest serious bowl in Makati: the Manila branch of an Osaka paitan shop, open since September 2025 on the corner of Rufino Street and Ayala Avenue. Chef Shun Sato froths a creamy chicken broth made with Kagoshima chicken, and the Kagoshima Tori Paitan Soba arrives with its chashu draped over the rim and crisp sweet potato strips on top. SPOT.ph put its chicken shoyu in the top three shoyu ramen in Metro Manila in July 2026, and it is a Tatler Best 2026 pick. Ground Floor, V.A. Rufino Street corner Ayala Avenue, Salcedo Village. ₱₱. From 11am until the day's bowls sell out. Special Tori Paitan Soba ₱740 (large), Tori Paitan Mazesoba ₱510 (menu, April 2026). Tip: it makes a limited number of bowls, so come early and check their social media before you go.
The Underbelly is The Tasteless Group's ramen shop at The Alley at Karrivin, sharing its room with the coffee bar Twelve Labors. It holds a Bib Gourmand, the MICHELIN award for good food at a fair price. Three kinds of noodles are made in house, and the bowl to order is Billy's Belly, pork bone broth with buta kakuni (braised pork belly) and fried leeks. Eat at the long curved shared table under a timber ceiling. The Alley at Karrivin, 2316 Chino Roces Avenue Extension. ₱₱. Daily, 11am to 10pm. Good to know: call +63 995 217 3796 to book, and it is pet friendly.
Menya Ippondo in Little Tokyo, the Japanese restaurant compound on Chino Roces Avenue, is where the ramen night ends. It makes Jiro style ramen, rare in Manila: thick chewy noodles under a heap of cabbage, bean sprouts, garlic and pork. The Special Tantanmen and a Taiwan ramen with clams are the lighter choices, and you can pick how firm you want the noodles. Little Tokyo, 2277 Chino Roces Avenue corner Amorsolo Street, Legazpi Village. ₱₱. Monday to Friday 4pm to 5am; Saturday and Sunday 11:30am to 5am. Tip: after 10pm it is one of the few good bowls still being served in Makati.
Fujiyama 55 is a Nagoya tsukemen chain founded in 2003, and its first Philippine shop opened in May 2025 at McKinley Exchange on EDSA. It earns its place for the tsukemen: thick noodles made fresh daily and a dense pork and fish dipping broth. When the noodles are gone, order rice and cheese and the kitchen turns the last of the broth into a risotto. The garlicky Jiro style ramen is the other draw. Ground Floor, McKinley Exchange Corporate Center, EDSA corner McKinley Road. ₱₱. Daily, 11am to 10pm. Good to know: it sits on the route between Makati and BGC, handy for lunch.
Ortigas and Pasig
Ramen Yushoken Ortigas is the closest serious ramen to Ortigas Center. Yushoken belongs to the Nippon Hasha group, the people behind Mendokoro and Marudori, and it is the group's house for tonkotsu and tsukemen. Order the shoyu tonkotsu or the tokusei tsukemen, or the karai maze soba if you want it spicy and without soup. The gyoza is worth the extra plate, and the room handles groups well. Ground Floor, The Imperium at Capitol Commons, Meralco Avenue corner Shaw Boulevard, Pasig. ₱₱. Daily, 10am to 10pm. Good to know: Yushoken also has branches on Panay Avenue in Quezon City and in Alabang.
Quezon City
Mugen Ramenya is chef Jorge Mendez's ten seat ramen bar on Maginhawa Street, open since August 2025 and a Tatler Best 2026 pick. The broths are slow simmered and the bowls go well past the usual: a crab ramen crowned with crab, a wagyu and tendon ramen, and a Hakata pork tsukemen. There are no reservations. You queue in person, order and pay while you wait, and the wait often runs past an hour. 108-B Maginhawa Street, Teachers Village East, Diliman. ₱₱₱. Daily, 4pm to 11pm. Crab Ramen ₱680, Wagyu & Tendon Ramen ₱750 (menu, September 2025). Tip: join the line before opening, or come on a rainy night when it is shorter.
If you are on the north side of the city and Mugen's line is too long, Mendokoro has a branch on Katipunan and Ramen Ibuki has one at Opus Mall.

Before you go
- Queues. Zagin Soba sells out and Mugen Ramenya runs a long line from opening. Mendokoro, Ramen Ibuki and Yushoken get busy at peak meal times. Mid afternoon is the calmest time almost everywhere.
- Booking. Most ramen shops are walk in. The Underbelly takes calls on +63 995 217 3796, and Ramen Ibuki takes online bookings through the Vikings Group site. Mugen Ramenya takes no reservations at all.
- The bill. A bowl at these shops costs roughly ₱490 to ₱750, more with extra toppings. Many add a service charge (Ramen Ron adds 10%), and sides like gyoza and karaage add up.
- Getting there. Ramen Ron and Marudori are a short walk apart in Rockwell, and Zagin Soba and Menya Ippondo are a short ride from each other in Makati. Mendokoro and Ramen Ibuki are a few minutes apart in BGC. Mugen Ramenya in Quezon City and Yushoken in Pasig are worth a trip of their own.
- Payment. Cards are widely accepted at the sit down shops. Carry some cash or GCash for the smaller places in Little Tokyo.
